![]() I just need to confirm if this laptop supports AHCI mode, verify that it is enabled, and resolve if needed. In other cases, I read that the appropriate SATA AHCI controller drivers need to be installed to support AHCI mode. I have read in some forums that some AMD SATA Controller drivers were released that did not use the AHCI designation in the displayed controller name in device manager but that they were AHCI enabled by default. I have the latest BIOS version F.46 loaded and nowhere in the BIOS am I able to confirm or configure the SATA mode. I only see AMD SATA Controller, ATA channel 0, ATA channel 1, and Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller listed under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers section in Device Manager. In device manager, there is no controller that is designated SATA AHCI. This laptop is AMD based A10 processor with AMD chipset. I just installed an SSD in my HP Pavilion 15 p051us laptop and need to verify the SATA AHCI mode is enabled.
